2026 Silicone Products Export Hot News: Policy-Driven Boom & Global Demand Surge

News Center

Apr 12, 2026 - A major policy adjustment has ignited an unprecedented boom in China's silicone products export market in 2026. On January 9th, the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration jointly issued an announcement, stating that the export tax rebate for primary form polysiloxane (tariff code 391000) will be cancelled starting from April 1st. This policy has triggered a strong response in the global market, leading to a concentrated rush for orders by overseas buyers and a surge in orders for Chinese silicone factories.

The latest customs data confirms the booming market: in January-February 2026, China's cumulative export of primary form polysiloxane reached 107,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 31%. Among them, exports in January were 54,600 tons (YoY +23.86%), and even during the Spring Festival in February, exports still reached 53,200 tons (YoY +39.24%). Silicone industrial belts in South China and East China are operating at full capacity, with many factories launching three-shift work systems to rush orders. Buyers from Europe, America and Southeast Asia have locked in annual production capacity in advance to avoid potential supply shortages and price increases.

In addition to the policy-driven rush, the global supply chain restructuring has further boosted China's silicone export share. Affected by the production reduction and shutdown of local factories in Europe, there is an 87,000-ton/year supply gap in the global silicone market (accounting for 12% of Europe's annual consumption). Since the end of 2025, the price of core raw material DMC has increased by 18%, and the price gap between China and Europe has expanded to 30%, making China's silicone products have an unprecedented cost-performance advantage.

The demand for high-end silicone products is also growing rapidly. Food-grade silicone kitchenware, baby products, and medical-grade silicone products have become the main force of exports. Data from Ningbo Customs shows that exports of medical device silicone products to the EU increased by 47% year-on-year, driving the domestic addition of 5 new GMP-certified production lines. Meanwhile, silicone baby products and food-grade kitchenware are in short supply in European and North American markets, with export volume in the second quarter increasing by more than 28% year-on-year, and orders for many manufacturers have been scheduled until the third quarter of 2026.

Facing the booming export market, Chinese silicone enterprises are accelerating their global layout. Many leading enterprises in Guangdong and Zhejiang have set up new production bases in Vietnam, Malaysia and Mexico, adopting the "China R&D + global manufacturing" model to avoid trade barriers, ensure stable delivery and maintain cost advantages. This model has been highly recognized by overseas buyers, who have praised the faster delivery, more stable prices and more assured cooperation.

From quantity growth to quality improvement, China's silicone export is entering a high-value-added era. High-end segments such as medical silicone, intelligent silicone and new energy supporting silicone are developing rapidly, with export growth rates exceeding 40% to 52%. Chinese silicone products are no longer limited to low-price competition, but have won the recognition of the global high-end market with advanced technology and reliable quality.
